Alay Sayaw at Pasasalamat
‘So David went and brought up the ark of God … to the city of David with rejoicing. David danced before the Lord with all his might; David was girded with a linen ephod. So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.‘ (2 Samuel 6:12-15)
The Holy Spirit unites the community of Pentecost Parish, as we expressed our gratitude through dance. Members of parish organizations, ordinary parishioners and religious men and women all joined the Karakol.
It is a different way of honoring the Spirit and the Lady of Pentecost, the patron of the parish and the True Ark of the new covenant, who bore in her womb the long awaited promise of salvation, Jesus Himself. Like King David rejoicing before the ark, we are energized and happy, and one can feel the festive and glorious mood of celebration in the parish. This is the second straight year we did the Karakol, and with the Bishop of Cubao no less!

My First Easter Vigil in OLPP:
Do you know the story about Psalm 23?
Once a great orator was invited to a congregation of church goers where he recited Psalm 23. With his expertise in rhetorics and Shakespearean panachial declamation, it was delivered par excellence.
Then the priest of that parish called an old priest who recited the same Psalm. When the old priest finished his own rendition of the Psalm 23, the great orator remarked, “I know Psalm 23, but the old priest knows the shepherd.”
When Fr. Dennis sung the “Exultet” it was devoid of rhetorics, no theatrical rendition, no voice like ‘concerto’… What made it perfect was his ‘knowledge and meaning of the ‘Exultet’… the proto-evangelium Jacobi. It is even more of a unqualified excellence when he was able to Proclaim it.
It was a pleasure to hear the Exultet being proclaimed and to be part of the Easter Vigil Celebration in OLPP. Much obliged…
HAPPY EASTER TO ALL…
